Uncovering The Hidden UK

Keir Starmer has had a lackluster time on office and can fairly be described as being unpopular on nearly every issue. Even his so-called “Trump-whispering” ability seemed to rest on him telling Trump what he wanted to hear, and doing what he wanted him to do. Then suddenly, when Trump started bombing Iran to pieces he found a voice. We were shocked, dumbfounded even, when he refused to grant Trump the use of the Chagos Islands..then disappointed when he subsequently gave in. We almost laughed, if it weren’t for the gravity of the situation, when he then gave in as long as it was for “defensive strikes” only. Doubt was cast on whether the Iranians, being bombed from 30,000 feet, would be able to see it was only a “defensive bombing” so must have only come from British territory ..so that was alright, then. But then Keir actually started making smart moves. “The Iran War was illegal” – say what, Keir ? “No, the UK wasn’t going to send any ships. Or actually help at all, Mr Trump (except Chagos)” – well Allright, Keir ! Where’s this Keir been hiding ? Obviously the unannounced Iran attack was illegal under International Law and there was no reason we should help as Firstly, it had nothing to do with us and secondly, Trump didn’t even tell Us it was going to happen. He just assumed, I guess, that now he ruled the World everyone would just agree with whatever violation of decency he decided to come up with next. Here was Keir actually standing up to Trump, putting UK interests and law first, and doing something popular for once. So popular even that that Tory leader who’s name I can’t recall she’s so irrelevant now ( Semi ? Kemi ? ) agreed with his approach. More importantly so did the vast majority of the UK. Keir scores a win ! Never thought we’d be thinking that this week. Then again, let’s watch him blow it next week.
