VICTOR ORBAN LOSES HUNGARIAN ELECTION

By admin • 13 April 2026

Despite Trump sending his “mini-me” JD Vance to Hungary Orban lost the Hungrarian election. The opposition lead by Peitar Maghur gained two-thirds of the electoral seats. This has been celebrated by liberals as the “end of Orbanism”, yet closer Analysis suggests many anti-democratic and pro-fascist elements in Hungary remain strong. Maghur was involved for years in Orbans party. Since 2006 he has held key positions in Orbans party, then broke off to form a party described as pro-EU and NATO). There are several issues outstanding such as Hungarys support of Netanyahu and Russia. Maghur is unlikely to change these policies, unfortunately . Russia issued a statement that it wanted to work with the new government, and the pro-Zionist ties may be too entrenched to break. Another factor to consider is that Maghur has pledged to continue the Orbanist approach to immigration (basically NO immigration). It will also be hard, even if he had the will, for Maghur to dismantle 16 years of anti-democratic judiciary and media control. High hopes rest on Peitar Maghur. Nobody can predict Hungaries future but we can surmise it as a partial-democratic win. Ukraine may get its 90Billion loan now that tiny Slovakia is the only other thorn in the EU’s side. But links to Russia and Israel, both extreme right-wing governments, will continue with Hungary.
